The Ortiz-Wilsons

I've had the pleasure of photographing the Ortiz-Wilsons since before Mia was born. They're always fun to hang with, and super easy to photograph because they're not afraid to show affection. (*hint to all those potential clients out there: Photographers LOVE PDAs!). So, this time we went to Guadalupe State Park. Ryan is an outdoorsy guy from Seattle and brings the kids here a lot. So this spot had special meaning for them. Not surprisingly, I'd never been... because as Jason likes to say to our children when I'm screaming about frogs in the house, "Your mom is not a fan of nature". Well, I'm definitely going back when it gets hot again. So THERE. I actually am a fan of nature, as long as it's nice and easy, doesn't require dealing with critters, hiking, sweating, or having to pee into anything other than a toilet. On that lovely note.

Meet Jacqueline and Ryan and their cutie pattooties (again).  :)

Thanks Ryan and Jackie! :)

That's one of the places we camp, you should come up for the day next time we do it. Critters are much easier to accept with messy kids and wine.

Wow, is I can say. Hi, my name is Sarah and I found your blog via the fabulous bags you are making.. will be ordering one soon via a message from a fellow photographer via Facebook.
This has to be one of my most favorite family shoots.. I love doing family shoots as well and capturing all their sweets smiles and candid shoots. I felt like I got to know this family's sweet spirit in this portraits and their story.
I have only been a photographer for over 2 yrs now and want to learn more every day. I am so bummed right now because my nice lens isn't working and the only way to fixed it is take it too a wolf camera far away.. maybe I should mail it, that makes me nervous!!
I just had to stop and take the time to comment to a truly inspiring fellow photographer!~~~God BLess~!

These are all great. They all show a family being loving and having a good time. Fantastic capture.

Did you use a fill flash for any of these? The lighting is beautiful in all of them.

MW - Just checking into your blog for a respite during a tough day and saw you posted the pics from GSP. You are just super talented. This shoot, just like all the others, turned out overwhelmingly beautiful. My family and I are lucky to have you capture us. I can't wait to do it again! And reading the comments only confirms that I am not just a blinded-by-love daddy....you love what you do and it shows. Many thanks again from the other Wilsons. Note: Jackie and I have it on our "when we get rich" list to get you up to Aspen one of these days to do a shoot at Maroon Bells. Now that would be epic. Hope all is well with you and yours.
