"The fisherman know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reasons for staying ashore." Vincent van Gogh
Don't get me wrong. Thunderstorms might be my favorite part about Texas weather. The wilder the better. They say, "Stay home, grab your book and coffee and don't worry about the groceries." And I'm not missing the usual 100 degree summer either. BUT, there has been SO MUCH rain...even I am ready for a break. And also convinced that I couldn't live in Seattle. So, Dear Clouds, I love you, but please take the day off.
I was on the computer ALL day yesterday editing and working on orders. Today I need to switch into Bionic Mom and run around town with a mission. You know, leaving for a week seems so simple when you're buying the tickets online. Then you get down to the logistics of making sure your kids and house and business are prepared and it always turns into the crunch of the century.
I'm sure I'll be exhausted tonight and ready for thunder, but I promised Michelle that I wouldn't bail on Girls' Night Out tonight (she knows me too well when I get like this). And I know it will be fun once I get there, but that means I will have to actually blow dry my hair and resurrect a cute outfit from the depths of the hamper. I better get going.
Before I go, I wanted to share one more thing. For some reason I can't link to her specific post, but go to http://www.superherodesigns.com/journal/ and scroll down to the July 14th entry about asking for what you want. It was very good.
