Flying Time and the Frog of Bravery

I know, the birthday talk is never-ending. But I was going through the photos tonight and thought this one was so cute. Jason and his Transformer Tee. Going the extra mile for Chance's birthday theme. Good dad. EXTRA good dad for what he (we) had to put up with that day. I don't know if any parents might be weird about the internet or whatever, so I'm not going to post photos of the TWENTY FOUR maniacs children that were at the house. Suffice it to say that WE WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN. Even the best kids, in those kinds of numbers turn into mini Hurricane Katrinas. It is a total miracle that no one got hurt on the slide. Little boys are CRAZY. CRAY-ZEEEE!!! So, if you are a new parent and debating the whole big-birthday thing...thinking it's necessary for well-rounded happiness. Let me clarify that IT IS NOT. I'm begging you, SPARE YOURSELF. Yes, he had a great time that day. But he is equally excited about next year. It will be a shopping spree at the toy store and 3-4 friends over, or out somewhere. That is how we are rolling from now on. Can I get a whoop whoop.

I can't believe he's already seven years old. I remember when he was seven days old. How impressed I was that we'd all made it a whole week.

This is my Best Shot Monday. A random picture from a few days ago. It's very sad. They hold the frog up to me and say, "You're afraid of them right mommy? That means I'm braver than you, right?" ...Yes, honey. I'm the one in the fetal position in the corner. Don't mind me.

More earth shattering news. I put Emily's hair into french braids for the first time and realized I don't have a baby anymore.

My sister's post today, also made me feel like time is flying at warp speed. Haley, I told you not to grow until I could see you next. You are in really big trouble. And you are also amazingly, stunningly beautiful too. I hope your first dance was so fun! And Kelly, I was totally cracking up when you said you had to hold yourself back from busting the roger rabbit on the dance floor. Does that mean it's not cool for your mom to do the centipede down the aisle of kids? HO-LLA!! OMG, that seriously makes me laugh just typing it. Because I know it was KILLING YOU not to get out there. Good thing I wasn't there, or we would have been the freak moms on the grass outside in our private dance party for two. Salt N' Pepa's HERE and we're in EFFECT.

I am laughing soooo hard right now! I would've totally gone out to have a party for two!! Forget the chaperon thing! The funny thing is that song, 'roll like a cholo?' You have to kinda flap your arms up and down and I WAS TOTALLY doing it! I think it's a bad as the Rodger Rabbit. May be even the Cabbage Patch! I was a total nerd. But I was invisible around those kids. That was the best thing. They are so focused on their friends, they don't have time to look at a mom.

And I can't believe it! BRAIDS!!! No way!! She is so precious. Chance is so cute and funny. I wish we could've been there with our Transformer shirts too!!!

WHOOP WHOOP on the birthday numbers. We survived a birthday party last weekend. Love the bday shot.

Love the frog in the hand photo. too. You would never come out of fetal position around my house. :) And the braid photo of your "big" girl...gorgeous.

YES, boys are CRA-ZEE!!! I totally agree. I am so thankful that we just moved here and don't know too many people. Both boy's birthdays will be small and relaxed!
Also, you WOULD get your arse on the dance floor and bust a move!

All three shots are great! I think the frog is my favorite. Good for you, photographing something you're afraid of! Also, thanks for the birthday party warning. I will heed your advice!
