I started this blog one year ago today as a way to market my business. I thought it's audience would consist of my mom, sister and the occasional client who wanted to check out recent work. It was totally shocking when I started to get emails from all over the world. It's led me to so many amazing people who inspire me every day. Plus it's enabled me to re-connect with old friends that I'd lost touch with. That means so much to me and I'm really grateful. So THANK YOU! To each and every person who checks in around here. That's so nice of you and I really appreciate it.

Now, since it's my blog's birthday, I think I get a wish. And that would be that you would leave a comment today especially if you've never said hello before. I know you're out there because I just got my fourth notice from squarespace about having to increase bandwith. So I'm declaring this the moment for you to de-lurk yourself (pretty please with sugar on top?). I'd love to get a sense of who is behind all these numbers. And don't forget to tell me where you're from and leave your website (if you have one) so I can stalk you back for a while. Thanks again for a great year!

I think I've tried to be courteous and leave you a comment before and for some reason kept getting flipped over to delightful blogs with each try. And, then...I just got lazy. So sorry.

But, I very much enjoy your style and photographs. I think I've been visiting for about 6 months. I live in Kansas and have two blogs (one is the one listed above. The other is a lifebook/blog for my daughter.) I enjoy photography, but in all honesty rarely take the camera off it's auto settings. I keep hoping I'll learn some great tricks from the photography blogs I read. :)

Happy Birthday Blog!!! I came across your site through Tracey Clark's site. You have both inspired me greatly. I really enjoy photography but let it go for awhile and then simply relied on auto everything! I'm back to manual and while I am figuring out my camera and lighting etc, I have started a blog to watch my progress.
