Good Morning San Francisco!
What a whirlwind the past two days have been. I sat next to a lady named Star on the plane. I figured that was lucky. Then ran into an old friend from high school (Hi Madeline!) at the baggage claim. I love it when the world turns small. I met Elizabeth (who'd just flown in from LA) and we spent the night eating sushi, catching up, laughing, and drinking too much out of the mini bar. Which did not however stop me from gettting myself up at 6am for THE BEST WORKSHOP EVER. SO much awesome information. Beyond that, Nate and Susan were completely warm and engaging and real. There wasn't anything they weren't willing to share (photographically speaking :0) ) and it was AWESOME! I have to say that it wasn't always like this in the photographic industry. 15 years ago, it was dominated by old men in pleated khaki pants who were constantly checking to see who had the biggest lens. It has TOTALLY EVOLVED. And Nate and Susan are perfect examples of two photographers who prove that you don't have to be aloof (and an ass) to be taken seriously. So the workshop rocked my world. I got a couple pictures. Not as many as I'd have liked because I was too busy trying to absorb it all. And I will have to wait to post them, because I have to get my butt in the shower to meet Kelly and Melissa for coffee. We're going here. I'll check back as soon as there's another free moment.
Sidenotes...this hotel has a really swanky website with pictures of it's fancy schmancy lobby. The rooms are Best Western.
And I finished this book on the plane. It made me cry at least three times. Has anyone out there read it? Wasn't it GOOD?! I love Anne Lamott and her real-ness...(if that's even a word). If anyone wants to read it, I'll send you my copy. Tell you what, whoever writes the best silly poem in the comments gets it. There's a little spice for your morning. :0)

I'd love to look
I'm dying to read your crazy book
because if it's so good
which it's sure to be
it's got a place in my library
But if it sucks
I tell ya what
I'll trade it in for romance smut.
**okay. LAME, but it was the best I could do while my soup was in the microwave! You're getting my pumped about photography.
Its in the heart, in the soul of me.
You can't put your finger on it,
or let is touch your face
Faith is a part of God's love and Amazing Grace
So to hold on to faith that is bound by a book
Only deserve my eyes to look
My fingerprints may leave a mark on the page
But the mark on the heart will forever remain
And I think that we all must agree,
Is that faith, hope and Love
All come from above,
But without Love, we're just three minus three!
Welcome home.
