I know no one likes to think about Christmas in July. But I just looked at my calendar and realized that I'm already booking into September. I have one opening left for July, a few in August, and I can tell the Christmas season is going to swallow me whole (again)  if I don't get a handle on it early. So, if you know that you're going to want Christmas portraits done, SCHEDULE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Last year, I made way too many last-minute exceptions, which ended up in what I now call The Great Cracking Of 2006. I don't want a 2007 repeat. This year I intend to enjoy the holiday season like every other normal person by staring at my Christmas lights and drinking way too much spiked apple cider. So, remember September and October are perfect timing for getting cards and prints back in time for gifts. And don't hesitate because appointments will be limited.

well said. I had the same thing happen to me last year, and I have been cringing my way through the summer, knowing that the fall crunch will be here soon. I like how you worded this. I might have to take some inspiration from you on this one and send out a plea (and a warning) that there will be no last minute shoots.
