Crapshoot Tuesday

For various reasons, my morning has not been the greatest. Then, adding salt into the wound, Emily walks into my office like this. I first noticed a few chopped hairs on her shoulders. Then scanning the rest of her, it was like that moment in a cartoon when the road runner realizes the string is attached to a stick of dynomite. Yep, the cherry on the top of my shit-day is my daughter giving herself a MULLET. Really, it's so bad. It's more like a rat tail. I guess I can be grateful that she didn't cut any pieces down to the scalp. And that it was an excuse to get a good cry in.

Hopefully you're all having better days.

Oh NO! The worst we ever did as kids - when it relates to cutting hair - was cut my brother's bangs in an up angle. My hair never got chopped. At least you can make a cute bob out of it, thank goodness it's not at the scalp!

Here is mine for this week:

Ugh! So sorry about the chop!

PS - That stinks about Mimi's wonderful hair!
Fortunately she's one of those who grows hair
back in a minute.

Dang.

OMG! I laugh only because my daughter did the same thing at that age, courtesy of her big brother. She is still adorable!

Well if it helps any my first impression was not her hair but, "oh wow - she looks like a little Boticelli girl!"

I'll be back with my crap shot later...

OMG- I could not stop laughing, I really feel for you as a mom though. Oh that stinks. My little girl was actually born with a mullett, we could not get her hair to grow when she was little- it took until about a year ago to actually look like it wasn't, so I know from experience what it's like to have a daughter with a mullett! Good luck growing it out- :)

OMG! Too funny! Did she tell you why she did it?

Oh no! A baby mullet! Why do kids do that? I used to cut my Barbie's hair until they all looked hideous.

I bet she just wanted to look like Katie and Suri with a bob.

Oh,you poor mama! She's just adorable, even with the "trim" and I'm sure she'll still be cute as a button after you fix it all up. Still, not a nice present for you.

I played along yesterday too: http://canadacole.typepad.com/superfluous_fluff/2008/11/tuesday-memes.html

Feel your pain sister. My stomach hurt for 2 days after Caleb completely pixied Maia's hair. Can't wait to see her next picture with the cute Katie Holmes bob! xx

You are not alone! My five year old has a one-inch tuft of hair growing straight up from her bangs because she too cut her own...

Welcome to yet another milestone of parenting! Yep, you've been given the invatation to step on the red hair strewn carpet. The 11 year old at my house a year ago cut a wad of chewing gum out of her hair at the 1/2 inch above the scalp mark, so beware, there could be another instance. Gotta love her.

Oh no! I'm so sorry, Maile. The good news is she will look adorable with short hair. :)
