Best Shot Birthday Monday

Crazy weekend. Partly because it was Chance's birthday. I'm waiting to throw his party until he's been at school for a couple weeks. But to celebrate the actual Day Of Turning Seven, we headed to the Rainforest Cafe downtown. Pictures can make everything look so darn perfect, so I'll go ahead and throw in the tidbit that (since neither one of us pay much attention to local news) we didn't know they'd closed down the freeway (again). Took us over an hour to get there. But it was fun once we made it.

Chance found a vent in the street that kept blowing his shirt out. This is my Best Shot Monday. Check out the rest at Picture This.

The wildlife looked a little too real for Emily.

As you can see, they make a big deal out of birthdays there. The kids LOVED it.

Happy birthday sweetie. Our big boy starts First grade today. We are incredibly proud. And I am incredibly loving the idea of having a routine back.

For all the kids starting today, this is what my mom said to us every morning on the way out the door, "God bless you, angels walk with you, and don't forget your lunch." 

Also, Kal's re-design prompted the need for an impromptu candy shoot. Now it looks like Halloween in my kitchen and I don't need it. Do you want it? First person to guess what number I'm thinking of, gets it. Come on can you tell which one?   :0)

It's a wonder how we can feel such great happiness and sadness simultaneously. Happiness for how well and good; handsome, pretty and adorable the grand-little ones are. And sad for the geography that I can never seem to permanently pray into oblivion. The pictures are a benediction.

Wow, I can't believe Chance is seven! Conor is loving the pictures! One of his favorite places is the Rain Forest Cafe. He has a little story for each shot! He will be six in October. He starts his first day of kindergarten next week. Now I just need to find a preschool for Gavin before the baby gets here!

love the one of the 3 of them. and chance....he's so big. i can't believe he is 7 seems like only 3 years ago he was 4! :) i miss seeing his face everyday in class...he and "willy" always made me laugh.

It was only yesterday that all of our friends were sitting around eating dinner, watching X-files, and awaiting to here the news of the new Wilson Baby! Seven years ago! Time does fly and it only goes faster. I remember walking in the room to visit you and Chance and tearing up when I saw him. I actually have that picture and when I find it, I'll send it. I miss you guys so much and I'm so thankful for your blog. It keeps me connected to you.

What a fun birthday party. That place looks awesome. Chance is such a handsome big guy and these photos are...I can't think of a word I want. :) But they're great.

Thanks you guys! Anna, the processing on both are increased contrast, sharpening, and i think i took out a lot of red on the phone one which made a green and grungy effect that i liked. Oh, and I burned out the background a lot so the background wouldn't distract. And all of them are shot with my new wide angle lens that I LOVE.
