Ruby Drama and MORE...
Lots to say. First, you guys ROCKED my comment box yesterday! Holy cow, that was so fun! THANK YOU! Especially to all the first-time commenters. I'm always curious about who pops in here. And of course, a huge thank you if you take time out of your day to kick down comments regularly. I love them, and always read them ALL!
SO, now the DRA-MAHH. The night before I posted about Ruby Slippers, I went online to make sure the color hadn't been discontinued. This place listed it in their color palette so I thought I was golden. Or ruby (har har). Plus, who would EVER get rid of such a popular color anyway?! Well that's a good question. Apparently the answer is ALL OF AMERICA. I'll spare you the details, but it turned out that the place that listed it, does not carry it. And AFTER A VERY THOROUGH SEARCH the only place that has it IS IN THE FREAKING UK. So, the good news is that I found it, (albeit for triple the price). The bad news is that it's going to take up to a month to make it here. So just consider it a happy merry Christmas present from your friendly Hawaiian Californian Texan photographer. And when you get it, I expect you to put it in your jewelry box, right next to your diamonds. And only wear it for special occasions. And when you do wear it, flash your hands and toes around all night to everyone around you. And give them dirty looks because you are the only one in America who is cool enough to be wearing International Rubies.
Now, are you dying to see who won? Who? Who? Who could it beeee??!!!
The five EXTRA LUCKY winners are...
If you are a winner, please email your address to info@relishportraitstudio.com. And if you didn't win, but had your heart set on being Ruby-liscious, you can purchase it here. I did find it in the states (can't find the link now), but you would have had to buy the whole holiday collection for $30+. And Essie has a knock-off "ruby slippers", but please. And if any one of you do manage to find the real thing (individually sold) in the States, please let me know because I will have to kill you. :0)
Phew! Now that that's over with, I have some other exciting news! I am RE-VAMPING my WOAI News Blog, so start checking it regularly (if you're so inclined :0)). It is getting a new name, and maybe even some Ruby Slippers too. I will be expanding it to include more than interviews, but for today you lucked out with a GREAT one from THE TRACEY CLARK. Photographer, Author, Mom EXTRAORDINNAIRE. Check out her interview at WOAI right here. PLUS...I think I can talk about it a little bit since she referrenced it in her interview. Tracey and I, and 5 other incredibly talented women/photographers (can I mention who they are yet Tracey?) will soon be launching a killer new site that will be called Shutter Sisters. It will be a combination of part photo blog, resource, online community and INSPIRATION. So set your bookmarks now and keep a look out!
Ciao little Ruby-licious friends.
