So shine the light on all of your friends, cause it all amounts to nothing in the end. ~Jason Mraz
Yesterday I was down on myself. I had a meeting with a client scheduled for 9:30. But when I took Emily into school, the whole class was dark, and had left for the pumpkin patch field trip. Yeah, the one that was listed on that flyer, that is buried at the bottom of the pile of other fliers. Thank God it wasn't a real photo session, but I still had to call my client (hi Melanie)...to say that I'm so sorry but I'm the lame mom who doesn't read flyers carefully. I know stuff slips through the cracks and that's life. But it still gets to me. Then my friend Kal posted something that totally changed my day around. If you are one of the few people in this world who hasn't been to her site, you must check her out. She has been my favorite artist for years. I just pretty much adore the way she sees things. So if you're not in the mood to check out the link to her very cool post yesterday, I'm going to plagarize my favorite part of it here for you:
"What is this thing you call your bulletproof positive attitude? Well. It's a feeling you create inside yourself. Or rather - it's a feeling I create inside myself to just shut out the elements on the outside of my head so I can just get dirty and make stuff. I turn off the Negative-Nancy's and the little picky pants that say that's-not-straight or that's-not-perfect or you-can't-do-this or you-suck or whatever... I just chuck those voices out. Kick 'em in the can. A bulletproof positive attitude is about carving your own style and path and not worrying about other artists or people. It's about not worrying about what you don't know or what materials scare you. Just MAKE STUFF. The more stuff you create - the more comfortable you are at creating things... and what you create - well, that just represents the feeling in your head and heart RIGHT THIS MOMENT. And you've got lots of moments. So GO. So totally GO and do it. We all make and create for different reasons. Don't worry about anybody else. Chin up and GO."

btw, the bathroom people were made in photoshop. I made them into brushes. If you are interested in them, I could email you the brushes. :) Just let me know. Actually, I've never emailed a brush, but I'm pretty sure I could figure it out.
