Chickity China to Chinese Chicken.

Friday again! There's so much going on, the weeks are blurring together. I'm not taking any more sessions this year, and weekends are booking into February. So if you need one, email me soon!

Also, please know that we are working like crazy to get the bags produced. Unfortunately, they're not going to be guaranteed for Christmas. BUT, each style will now include a removable shoulder strap. I'd been on the fence because I didn't design them to be necessarily worn while you shoot. But there were enough requests, and then a recent trip through an airport made me wish I had one. So we made the alteration because options are nice. And THANK YOU for the feedback! Please know that I read every single comment and email, so please keep them coming!

At this point there are so many of you waiting, I thought it would be fun to keep you in the loop! Jason left for China yesterday to check on production. Having never been, neither one of us knew what to expect. And even after watching that Dateline special a couple years ago about how developed they've become over the last 50 years, I was still surprised when Jason described it as "Dallas on Steroids". Alrighty then.

This is him on my computer, skype-ing from his hotel room this morning. It was almost midnight there. I think he was celebrating being off the 14 hour flight.

Showing the kids how the Hong Kong dollar has a transparent window.

Have a great weekend! I'll try to keep you guys posted throughout the process.

yeah for production! i am carrying my D90 in my new vera bradley bag. It's pretty soft and my wallet is like a mini quilt so i am not afraid to put my baby in there along with the wallet as long as the lens cap is on. Still looking forward to the shiny red model you have...NOW IN PRODUCTION :)

Anyway we could get a ballpark figure in regards to prices? Can't wait to get one but probably need to be saving up some money!

hi Cat, We'll be posting price points when the website launches. They are going to be priced competitively based on what else is on the market right now. Thank you so much for your patience! I just saw the final samples, and trust me it's going to be so worth it!

Your husband is adorable! What a great smile. He kind of looks like Michael Keaton. At least in these shots.

Also, I'm loving hearing about your journey to produce camera bags. It's cool to hear about all the steps along the way. And I'm sure we're not even hearing the half of it!

Also - did you know that The Barenaked Ladies (the band whose song your blog title comes from) are CANADIAN?!? :)

Aaaaahhh! I can't wait to see them! I'm carrying my camera and lenses in small, unpadded, travel bag w/ no separate compartments! I hate it! I want a new bag and the suspense is killing me! How soon will the site launch so we can get a peek?

Maile, this is just so exciting! Thanks for taking us along on your journey, I love hearing every detail about your fabulous bags, and can't wait to have one of my own. I feel so proud of you, even though we've only met a handful of times!

There's my seat...
There's the edge of my seat...
There's me, and my two-hundo bootay, sitting on the edge of my seat...

This feels so much like standing in the hall of the maturnity ward
waiting for the baby to be brought to us all that we might kiss her
on the cheek, giver her a blessing and pat sweaty, smiling mama on the head.

xoxo,
